Cocktail author: not entirely sure who created this particular variation, only that it references 1966 World Cup. I first encountered this particular recipe on Steve the Bartender’s website.

Brazil 66 in essence is an orange Caipirinha. It takes a classic Caipirinha template combining cachaça, lime juice, sugar / syrup and builds on with the addition of orange notes.

Primary flavour of the cocktail is defined by the base spirit contributing its grassy, herbal notes, which blend seamlessly with the lime juice (a combination that works so well in the classic Caipirinha) and is being balanced by a touch of simple syrup. Finally, the addition of triple sec and orange juice takes the cocktail in a sweeter, fruitier direction by introducing new flavours and increasing the complexity of the drink. Orange notes add a further tropical spin on the cocktail, appealing to even broader audience and turning it into an unbelievable drinkable cocktail.

Altogether, Brazil 66 is a delicious cocktail, with the taste profile perfectly suitable for the summer. Especially if you are not the biggest fan of sweeter highball drinks, that seem to be everywhere on the hot summer months.
