Fay Wray is a lovely, modern take on a tiki cocktail that is bursting with flavour. This particular recipe combines many tiki staples into a single drink, with fruity and rather dry taste profile, for a tiki that is.

Cocktail features a split base of aged rum and cognac, combining sweet molasses of rum with floral notes of the cognac. Distinctive fruitiness is provided by the banana liqueur, supported by the freshness and tartness of lime. Regal shake with spent lime wedge, brings even more aroma of the lime to the mix. Grassy notes of Rhum Agricole plays nice with the rest of the ingredients and together with cognac creates a distinctly dry flavour profile for this tropical cocktail. Small addition of rich demerara syrup, finely tunes balance of the cocktail while at the same time reinforcing toffee and caramel notes. Mint garnish expands the aromatic element of the drink by adding the last little flourish to the drink.

All in all, Fay Wray is a remarkable cocktail, that could help introduce the world of tiki to a dry / alcohol forward cocktail lover.
