Cocktail author: Recipe from an article by VinePair.

Continuing the theme of Grand Marnier in cocktails (not sponsored by, I just really like the liqueur) here is the third cocktail from the VinePair list: Grand Whiskey Peach Smash.

Same as previous cocktails from this list, the drink is built around a mix of muddled fruits and herbs. Where things start to take a different turn is the base being split between bourbon and Grand Marnier, instead of the latter solely forming the base. This way the subtler notes of both spirits are coaxed out, such as sweet vanilla of the bourbon and spicy oak of the Grand Marnier. Together they pair well with the herbaceousness of mint and basil as well as sweet fruitiness of the peach. Addition of muddled lemon adds a bit of tart bitterness with the final touch of simple syrup balancing the whole cocktail.

All in all, Grand Whiskey Peach Smash is a delicious blend of ingredients resulting in a complex and refreshing sipper. Perfect to enjoy after a busy day.
