If you ever felt like having a tiki cocktail, but the amount of alcohol kept you back, then you are in luck. Tiki Tak, a creation of Andrew Porteus, will be a perfect cocktail for you.

This is probably the first low ABV tiki cocktail I have encountered so far and it managed to capture the spirit of tiki minus the rum. Dry vermouth forms the alcoholic base of the cocktail. I have used Dolin with its notes of wormwood, pineapple and oregano. It paired very well with pineapple juice, lime, banana and velvet falernum which all are staples of a good tropical drink. Additional aromatic kick provided by the slightly tart Peychaud's bitters, bringing notes of anise, plum and cloves to the cocktail. A very unusual and interesting cocktail.

To me Tiki Tak comes to mind when thinking about a mid-week cocktail after work. Not overwhelmingly strong, but very very tasty. Just enough to keep one going through the tough week. A good cocktail to have in your personal arsenal.
