Alaska is a cocktail with more than a hundred years of history behind it. Coqodaq Alaska, refers to it’s ancestor mainly in the name only, it retains some similarities, but I would argue that it is a completely new cocktail with unique flavour profile.

Gin forms the base of the cocktail with the signature juniper taste, which is then combined with complex herbal and floral notes of blanc vermouth. A splash of vodka adds a gentle alcohol burn without overcomplicated overall cocktail taste. Green Chartreuse is the nod to the original Alaska which usually features yellow Chartreuse. The liqueur brings the bomb of familiar sweet herbal notes it is known and loved for adding extra layer of sophistication. The kicker completely altering the flavour of the cocktail is Midori. It steers the cocktail into even sweeter direction, while at the same time giving it a surprisingly light and fruity twist.

Coqodaq’s Alaska is a unique cocktail with complex and interestingly weird flavour profile, which is why I highly recommend trying it. It might not be to everyone’s liking, but it will certainly be an experience and you will definitely remember sipping this brightly coloured drink.
