Lately with cold and wet autumn weather settling in I wanted to make a cocktail, that could bring back the spirit and feel of summer. Courtside - Honey Deuce; an official US open cocktail was a perfect choice for that. It is light, flavourful and refreshing, especially if home-made lemonade is involved. On paper it might seem almost too simple, but it can easily stand up to other summer favourties like gin & tonic and mojito.

Cocktail base is formed by the neutral vodka, which when paired with lemonade and Chambord still manages to allow its quality of crispy spiciness to shine through. When it comes to lemonade I like to turn to my preferred recipe of equal parts lemon juice, lime juice, demerara syrup and three parts soda water, it is full of citrusy freshness. Subtle addition of Chambord brings additional gentle sweetness and fruitiness to the mix, helping to balance out the otherwise a bit tart lemonade. Garnish with some honeydew melon balls and my personal addition of lemon twist and mint for further summer vibes.

So, if you feel craving for lighter summer style cocktail this weekend, give this recipe a try.
