Cocktail author: Cocktail originates from the Canary Islands.

Barraquito coffee cocktail was a tasty find, I did not expect to come across this spring. It is sweet wholesome comforting and even perhaps a little decadent creation. Great as an afternoon pick me up or even as a liquid dessert and its low ABV content make it a perfect for this purpose, not mentioning the stunning layered looks just whetting your appetite.

Cocktail is built around a combination of milk and coffee, a comforting drink that has been enjoyed probably for centuries. A little addition of sweetened condensed milk brings a decadent sweet and viscous dimension, matched and reinforced perfectly by sweet vanilla notes of the liqueur. It plays around with the delicious bitter and slightly acidic taste of the espresso all bonded together by the frothed milk.

Barraquito is a lovely take on an afternoon coffee. Next time you have some guests over instead of offering them ordinary cup of coffee, give this low ABV cocktail a try. Its looks and decadent nature with surely be a hit as well as great conversation topic.
