Recently I was looking for recipes of untraditional hot toddies and I came across this delightful, warm cocktail by Natalie Migliarini.
Grapefruit Hot Toddy is a pleasantly fragrant and fruity addition to the hot cocktail family. Components are deceptively simple, yet the result is anything but. Bitter citrus notes of the ruby red grapefruit pairs great with slightly floral style gin containing notes of chamomile, coriander and citrus. To keep things interesting, I have chosen to use orange blossom honey for its sweet citrusy notes which worked very well in this cocktail, taming bitterness and sourness of the grapefruit.
This particular take on a hot toddy is a great way of adapting this classic cocktail and giving it a tropical spin. I will admit, it was a hit at our home and will definitely be made again and again, to help warm cold and dark winter evenings.
