If you ever felt tired of an ordinary margarita, this might be a perfect way to spice things up a bit. Heat from a few slices of muddled jalapeno, can really make an impact on a cocktail. Combine that with some cucumber coolness, that works so well alongside vegetable notes of tequila and you end up with a great twist on a classic cocktail.

The one lesson I have learned when making this cocktail is to take good care of dilution. Too much cucumber or too much shaking can really ruin it by making it very watery. Since I am a rather slow drinker, I really messed up by over shaking the cocktail in the beginning and then leaving it sit for too long, letting the ice dilute it too much. After making this mistake, I decided to make the cocktail again and this time strain the cocktail over fresh ice (large cubes), rather than dumping all the contents with already half melted ice into a cocktail glass, to suit my slow drinking style better. That time it worked very well. Although, if you drink fast, feel free to skip this step and just pour the contents with jalapeno and cucumber straight into the glass.
