Cocktail author: Marcovaldo Dionysos (Recipe from The Smuggler’s Cove book).

With the summer drawing to a close there is no better way to enjoy the remaining rays of sunshine, than with a tiki cocktail in your hand. Piñata by Marcovaldo Dionysos is a perfect cocktail for this purpose. It has it all, starting with rich tasting rum, tropical fruits and spice notes. Tasty from the very first sip.

Cocktail base in a true tiki tradition is split, in this particular case between black and lightly aged rums. Deep and nutty molasses notes of black rum blend with lighter fruit and spice notes of white rum.  Additions of ginger liqueur and allspice dram takes the cocktail firmly in a tropical direction imparting whole lot of flavour, strongly present from the beginning to the end. Combination of pineapple and lemon juices helps to tame the booziness and adds that all important refreshing tartness. While the drop of demerara syrup brings the final balancing touch.

Piñata is a delicious tiki cocktail, that certainly ticks all the boxes. Perfectly suited to relax with on the warm summers evening.
