Cocktail author: Thomas Waugh (Recipe from Death & Co cocktail book).

Lately, I have been feeling a craving for beer, not usual for summer, so I decided to look for a drink, that would combine my passion for mixology and beer. The search resulted in a Strange Brew, a cocktail by Thomas Waugh.

Usually, I’m not that crazy about IPA, but in this cocktail it tasted amazing. Personally, in this drink I prefer slightly fruity IPA with notes of citrus, that pairs great with spices and lime of the falernum and botanicals of gin. Fruity notes are then further reinforced by the addition of sweet and tart pineapple and lemon juices. Final drop of freshness comes from the mint sprig garnish and its contrasting cool notes.

In the end, Strange Brew as its name implies might be a little strange, compared to traditional cocktails, but it is totally delicious and ready to surprise you. So, give it a try if you have a chance.
