Brandy Alexander
COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 45 ml Cognac
- 30 ml Dark Creme de Cacao
- 30 ml Heavy Cream
GARNISH:
- Grated Nutmeg
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
• Add ice and shake until chilled.
• Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
• Garnish with some freshly grated nutmeg.

There are many holiday related drinks and cocktails, Brandy Alexander fits nicely among them. Being creamy, chocolaty and decadent is what most holiday cocktails are about and this cocktail delivers it with ease. However, being as good as it is, I believe, it does not get its deserved recognition. Perhaps only in cocktail enthusiast circles, but is rather unknown outside of it.
Cognac forms the base of the cocktail with oak, nut and caramel notes which are very prominent. Brown crème de cacao, brings some sweetness and bold dark chocolate notes which pair great with the cognac. Heavy cream brings a little texture and richness to the mix, taking it further in the decadent direction. Final touch of grated nutmeg adds an aromatic element nicely finishing the cocktail and giving it a slight holiday spin.
All in all, Brandy Alexander is a simple and delicious cocktail, that can really brighten up your holiday season.
