Hawaiian Cocktail
COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 45 ml Calvados
- 15 ml Yellow Chartreuse
- 15 ml Fresh Lime Juice
- 15 ml Pineapple Gum Syrup
GARNISH:
- Lemon Twist
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
• Add ice and shake until chilled.
• Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
• Garnish with a lemon twist.

Recently I have been looking for a new calvados cocktail to try and came across this recipe for a Hawaiian Cocktail – French apple brandy-based cocktail with a bold fruity tropical twist.
Calvados lays the foundation for the cocktail with distinct notes of apple subtly enriched by the oaky brandy like quality with hints of vanilla. Yellow Chartreuse brings herbal complexity with notes of saffron, anise and subtle sweetness of honey. Tropical component is provided in the form of pineapple gum syrup adding not only the distinct tropical fruitiness, but imparting a pleasant viscous mouthfeel to the cocktail. Finally, a touch of lime juice further expands on the tropical theme and imparts a bit of that all important balance, saving the cocktail from becoming overly sweet.
All in all, Hawaiian Cocktail is a relatively simple cocktail, if you have some pineapple gum syrup lying around the house. Otherwise, it a very good opportunity to make some, it truly breathes life into this delicious cocktail.
