Gin Fizz Tropical

COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 60 ml Gin
(Preferably Plymouth)
- 30 ml Fresh Lime Juice
- 15 ml Orgeat
- 15 ml Pineapple Gum Syrup
- 22,5 ml Egg White
- 30 ml Soda Water (Chilled)

GARNISH:
- Dehydrated Lime Wheel
- Sprig of Mint

INSTRUCTIONS:
• Combine all of the ingredients except soda water in a cocktail shaker.
• Dry shake (without ice) to emulsify the egg whites.
• Add one or two ice cubes and shake until fully dissolved.
• Pour the contents into a chilled cocktail glass and let it set for a minute or two in the fridge, until the foam fully forms.
• Top up with chilled soda water to raise the foam. (For better result you can make hole with a straw to pour the soda water through or pour it along the bar spoon in order not to ruin the foam.)
• Garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel and a sprig of mint.

Gin Fizz is a tasty cocktail with a very long history, it might even be the “original” fizz, serving as an inspiration for many other cocktails that came later. So, it is a recipe that absolutely has to be treated with respect. Gin Fizz Tropical manages to achieve this and take the cocktail in a unique and fruity direction.

Naturally base of the cocktail is gin, preferably Plymouth with its one-of-a-kind earthy flavour profile combining angelica root and juniper. From here the cocktail starts taking a tropical turn with tartness of lime and sweet almond notes of orgeat. Pineapple Gum Syrup brings the vibrant fruitiness to the mix further brightening up the drink. Recipe ends by following the fizz template with egg whites and soda water providing that eye-catching foam.

All in all, Gin Fizz Tropical is a fantastic riff on a XIX century cocktail, full of new almost tiki like flavours. Absolutely worth a try.
