Norwegian Paralysis
COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 45 ml Aquavit
- 7,5 ml Orgeat
- 7,5 ml Demerara Syrup
- 15 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
- 45 ml Pineapple Juice
- 45 ml Fresh Orange Juice
GARNISH:
- Cherry
- Sprig of Mint
- Orange Twist
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
• Add ice and shake until chilled.
• Strain into a cocktail glass over fresh cracked ice.
• Garnish with skewered cherry, sprig of mint and an orange twist.

Scandinavian aquavit is not the first spirit that comes to mind when thinking about tropical tiki libations. However, Martin Cate managed to blend this distinct flavoured spirit into a fruity and indulgent cocktail seemingly with ease and the result is remarkable.
Aquavit lays a solid foundation for the cocktail with unmistakable notes of caraway and anise, which are then paired with gentle sweet citrus of orange and vibrant fruitiness of pineapple. Lemon juice introduces a touch of bright and refreshing tartness later balanced by deep molasses of demerara syrup and almond nuttiness of orgeat.
All in all, Norwegian Paralysis is a quite unique tiki cocktail with rather complex flavour profile. Delicious to the very last drop.
