The Rib Tickler
COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 60 ml Dry Vermouth
- 22,5 ml Suze
- 15 ml Elderflower Liqueur
- 15 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
- 15 ml Simple Syrup
- Soda Water (Chilled)
GARNISH:
- Dehydrated Bergamot Wheel
- Grapefruit Slice
- Sprig of Mint
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Fill a wine glass with ice.
• Add all of the ingredients except soda water.
• Give it a brief stir to combine.
• Top with chilled soda water.
• Garnish with a dehydrated bergamot wheel, grapefruit slice and a sprig of mint.

Second cocktail on my summer 2024 spritz series is a Rib Tickler - a surprising twist on the white negroni by Alex Day. The flavour profile is dominated by the floral and herbal notes making it perfectly suited for summer as a light refreshing drink surely to please many.
Cocktail does not have a base spirit as such, instead a heavy dose of dry vermouth is used bringing a mix of various herbal and subtle honey notes present throughout the cocktail and binding well with the rest of the ingredients. Elderflower liqueur adds delicate floral sweetness blending well with bitter earthiness of Suze creating a remarkably tasty fusion. Fresh tartness of lemon juice brightens up the cocktail with a touch of simple syrup emphasizing the individual notes of other ingredients. Splash of soda water lengthens the drink while adding that all important effervescence finishing the drink.
Rib Tickler is a delicious and delicate cocktail full of light summer notes. Perfectly suited for the cozy terrace parties - refreshing, delicious, sophisticated and tasty to the very last drop.
