There are few other cocktails that inspired so many stories and legends like Don the Beachcomber’s Zombie. It certainly has a reputation to uphold and The Undead Gentleman is a riff that certainly does justice to its predecessor. Tasty, easy to drink and full of alcohol, perfect choice for a seasoned cocktail lover.

Cocktail base is split between blended aged rum and black blended overproof rum bringing bold and boozy notes of molasses, brown sugar and delicate tropical fruits forming a solid foundation for the drink. Lime and grapefruit juices add the refreshing balancing tartness along with subtle bitterness helping to tame all that alcohol. Velvet Falernum provides sweet tones of tropical spice pairing well with the cinnamon syrup and aromatics of the Angostura bitters. Subtle absinthe rinse adds layers of complexity with the flavour of aniseed nicely finishing the cocktail along with aromatics of the grapefruit peel garnish.

The Undead Gentleman is a boozy tiki creation full of tropical notes and loads of flavour. It is delicious and surprisingly easy to drink, keeping in mind how much rum is in it. Absolutely must try for rum and tiki cocktail lovers.
