Cocktail author: traditional Spanish cocktail.

I’m a big fan of the Spanish classic of home-made fruity sangria. I have made it with almost any type of wine available: red, white, rose etc. However, it is not always that one has time to prepare this tasty drink since it requires some forethought. Luckily, to satisfy your cravings, for such occasions the Spanish invented Tinto de Verano – an easy to make delicious and refreshing cocktail.

Base of the cocktail is formed by rich, robust, full-bodied and dry Spanish red wine with delicious fruity notes dominating the drink. A touch of lemon syrup, brings tasty citrus aromatics as well as some tamed tartness to the mix. Final addition of soda water introduces refreshing effervescence while at the same time lengthening the cocktail giving it an almost lemon soda like twist.

All in all, Tinto de Verano is an all-round great cocktail, especially well suited for parties and gatherings where cocktail must be made quickly and in great volume. It will certainly be making a reappearance in my household.
