Chartreuse Swizzle

COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 45 ml Green Chartreuse
- 30 ml Pineapple Juice
- 22,5 ml Fresh Lime Juice
- 15 ml Velvet Falernum

GARNISH:
- Sprig of Mint
- Dehydrated Lime Wheel
- Freshly Grated Nutmeg

INSTRUCTIONS:
• Fill the cocktail glass halfway with crushed ice.
• Add the ingredients and swizzle.
• Top with crushed ice and swizzle again if necessary.
• Garnish with a sprig of mint, dehydrated lime wheel and some freshly grated nutmeg.

There is no better time to take a sip of a swizzle than a hot summers day. For this occasion, I would like to recommend Chartreuse Swizzle by Marcovaldo Dionysos.

This cocktail brings together tropical flavours and marries them together with French alpine liqueur. While the two directions might sound very different, they blend seamlessly in this drink. Not surprisingly sweet herbaceousness of Green Chartreuse is very dominant, providing a whole mass of flavour and of course booze. Addition of pineapple juice with its sweet-tart flavour profile helps to tame this bold liqueur and prepares the ground for other ingredients. Strong and sweet aroma of Velvet Falernum blends well with the alpine liqueur, combining together and forming a very distinct fragrance, while at the same time taking the cocktail further in the tropical direction. A healthy dose of lime juice is extremely important to balance out the sweet liqueurs and bring some freshness. At first glance I thought the cocktail might be too sweet, because of the amount of sweet liqueurs, but lime juice and dilution from crushed ice balanced it out wonderfully.

Chartreuse Swizzle is a must try cocktail for cocktail lovers. Not too complicated to make, but delicious, complex and sophisticated in taste.
