Jasmine is a simple and delicious cocktail, strongly inspired by the well-known classic - Pegu Club.

Base spirit of the cocktail is London dry gin, lending its signature juniper notes to the cocktail. I quite like a gin that has subtle hint of citrus, since it pairs very well with lemon juice and triple sec; gives just a touch more complexity to the drink and helps blending the ingredients into a cohesive whole. Fresh lemon juice brings some tartness paring with sweet orange of the triple sec and bitter-sweet taste of Campari. Jasmine is all out citrus cocktail for me, so finishing touch of lemon peel is a must. For my own touch, I have added a small sprig of mint, which brings some coolness to the mix, and expands the aromatic dimension of the cocktail.

Jasmine is an easy to make cocktail, that does not require much effort, yet yields the maximum result. A great example of how modern classic cocktail should work.
