Summertime Fantasy

COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 30 ml 5-year Aged Rum
- 30 ml White Rum
- 45 ml Midori Melon Liqueur
- 7,5 ml Velvet Falernum
- 30 ml Lime Juice
- 22,5 ml Ginger Syrup (1:1)

GARNISH:
- Lemon Flower
- Cherry

INSTRUCTIONS:
• Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
• Add a generous amount of ice and shake until chilled.
• Strain over fresh crushed ice into a hurricane glass.
• Garnish with a lemon flower and a cherry.

This cocktail was really just an improvisation, to see what can I do on the spot with some leftover ingredients in my cabinet. It might not be the best cocktail I have ever invented, but it sure tastes refreshing, especially on a hot sunny day.
Combination of melon liqueur and ginger syrup works very well, complementing each other and providing most prominent flavours in the cocktail. While rum adds an extra boozy kick and lime juice balances out the sweet components. I love the combination of white and golden rum providing additional depth, but it can work equally well with only 60 ml of white rum, if you prefer it.
Also, I must mention, that it might require some try and error approach to find the exact balance of ginger syrup, the first attempt on my end was way to gingery, since my homemade syrup was very ginger forward.
