Breakfast Martini Sour

COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 45 ml Gin
- 30 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
- 15 ml Simple Syrup
- 1 tsp Orange Marmalade
- 22,5 ml Egg Whites

GARNISH:
- Orange Twist

INSTRUCTIONS:
• Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
• Dry shake to emulsify the egg whites.
• Add ice and shake until chilled.
• Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
• Garnish with an orange twist.

Breakfast Martini Sour is a cocktail that could easily take over Mimosa’s place as a go to cocktail for brunch and much more. It is a delicious drink, with the proper amount of booze, but nonetheless remains light and decadent. Perfect choice for brunch or as a tasty evening libation.

Cocktail base is formed by juniper forward London dry gin, a choice for many sour style cocktails. It is followed by a generous amount of lemon juice and touch of simple syrup - the classic build of a sour. Addition of orange marmalade is where things take a new and interesting turn. Marmalade delivers rich and concentrated orange flavour, also affecting the sour and bitter balance of the drink with egg whites offering that all important decadent foam texture.

I love to squeeze a twist of orange over this cocktail, to enhance the aromatic dimension as a final touch.
