Margarita is a well-known and loved tequila cocktail with countless of riffs and variations. Recently I have stumbled upon one more – The Elderflower Margarita. Right from the get go it looked like this could be a fantastic drink. Tequila and St. Germain, what’s not to like?

Base of the cocktail is formed by the blanco tequila and its vegetal agave notes which are then paired with the sweet floral herbaceousness of St. Germain. By keeping lime juice addition to a minimum, you still get a gentle touch of freshness, but without overpowering the subtler notes of the liqueur. Finally, salt rim works as a flavour enhancer, allowing you to enjoy all the notes of the cocktail to its fullest.

Elderflower Margarita is an interesting take on the classic cocktail. Lighter on the strong spirit, but full of sweet floral taste of elderflower makes it a perfect spring sipper. Great companion to enjoy the returning sunshine with.
