Pimm’s is an ingredient most often encountered in Pimm’s Cup, yet when it is combined with a heavy dose of apple brandy like in this Forbidden Fruit even more aspects of this liqueur come to shine.
As already mentioned cocktail base is formed by apple brandy with notes of apple, spiced wood as well as floral elements like vanilla and cinnamon, which allows it to pair very well with Pimm’s No. 1. The liqueur contributes bittersweet herbal tones to the cocktail elevating the complexity and sophistication of the drink. A touch of lemon juice balances the cocktail with a refreshing tartness along with a splash of simple syrup allowing further notes off Pimm’s to come to life. The addition of cocktail bitters works as a delightful spice letting the cocktail develop extra layers of complexity. Finally, ginger beer introduces that delicious sweet effervescence and subtle bite of ginger binding it all together.
Forbidden Fruit is a tasty highball drink with layers of flavour for one to enjoy. Great for garden parties and gatherings.
