Kill Devil
COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- 60 ml Rhum Agricole Blanc
- 15 ml Green Chartreuse
- 7,5 ml Rich Demerara Syrup (2:1)
- 3 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
- 5 Drops of Wray and Nephew Overproof Rum
GARNISH:
- Lime Coin
INSTRUCTIONS:
• Combine all of the ingredients except overproof rum in a mixing glass.
• Add ice and stir for 30-45 sec. or approx. 60 revolutions.
• Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
• Garnish with a lime coin / disc.
• Add overproof rum on the lime coin and set it on fire.

With autumn just starting up it is time to brush up on a boozier stir-down cocktails for the darker, colder days ahead. Kill Devil, by Erin Williams, is a great transitional cocktail, with stunning looks.
Base of the cocktail is formed by rhum agricole and it signature grassy, floral almost funky notes. It is then paired with complex sweet botanicals of green Chartreuse working wonderfully with rhum agricole. Rich demerara syrup brings further sweetness and notes of molasses as well as a hint of burnt caramel. Few dashes of Angostura bitters bring subtle tropical spice to the mix, fully rounding out the cocktail. Finally, a few drops of flaming overproof rum floating on top of the lime coin adds that impressive visual flair, making that cocktail that much more seductive.
All in all, Kill Devil is a booze filled cocktail, with plenty of subtle notes complementing each other. A great choice to relax with after a busy day.
