Every now and again one deserves to relax with a glass of cold tropical drink in your hand, regardless of the time of the year. Mai Sha Roa Na being an intriguing Mai Tai inspired cocktail is perfectly suited for this purpose.

Cocktail base is formed by overproof Jamaican rum and its distinct funky, fruity, molasses notes laying a solid foundation. Addition of the liqueur, builds on by lifting taste of ripe, sweet banana to the foreground. Macadamia nut syrup subs in for the orgeat with slightly different nutty profile full of almost hazelnut like qualities that play so well with the rum. Balance is provided by the lime juice. Being a natural ingredient in rum cocktails it adds that all important fresh tartness with a bit of tropical zing to the mix, while balancing out the sweeter ingredients. Finally, mint and lime garnishes further support the aromatic element of the cocktail, for full drinking experience.

Mai Sha Roa Na is a delicious Mai Tai riff, sure to please any tropical or tiki cocktail lover. Definitely give it a try if you have a chance.
