Sometimes, a summery tiki drink can be exactly what you need on a cold and windy winter’s day. Sitting around with a glass of Merciless Virgin in your hand could certainly invoke many summer memories and feeling of sunshine on your face.
Just like a true tiki, this recipe combines quite a few ingredients. Standing in for base spirit is lightly aged blended rum with its clear finish and notes of brown sugar, cloves and vanilla. It is further enriched by the complex taste of velvet falernum full of aromatic spices. Cherry liqueur gives cocktail a touch of heaviness and imparts rich and sweet cherry flavour. Subtle addition of dry curaçao, bolsters citrusy notes of the rum and velvet falernum, helping it to keep the bold taste of cherry liqueur in check. Addition of lemon juice brightens and freshens up the cocktail as well as balancing out otherwise rather sweet ingredients. Finally, the touch of soda or seltzer water will help out with the dilution nicely finishing the cocktail.
Merciless Virgin is a tasty cocktail simply bursting with summer flavours. It will surely brighten up your day, especially in the middle of winter.
