Bourbon and whiskey cocktails often take a back seat during the spring and summer – the season of light, fruity and tropical drinks. Napoleon breaks this rule and takes this delicious oaky spirit blending it into a cocktail full of summer flavour and texture.

For a fuller richer drinking experience take high proof bourbon as the base for the cocktail, something in the area of 50-55%. It adds those oaky, caramel and vanilla notes and allows them to shine through. Blanco Vermouth brings some additional herbal complexity bridging the gap between the base spirit and the sweet fruitiness of muddled raspberries. A touch of Campari contributes some bitter-sweet complexity to the mix. Lemon juice adds that fragrant refreshing tartness balanced out by a touch of simple syrup. Finally, egg white, adds that decadent silky-smooth texture for an all-round great drinking experience.

All in all, Napoelon is a tasty complex cocktail, that manages to create a summer style cocktail built around the classic winter season spirit.
